Inaugural Ceremony of Visit Nepal Year 2020

The Embassy of Nepal in Copenhagen in collaboration with Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Denmark organized an inaugural ceremony of Visit Nepal Year 2020 on 15 January 2020 at Asia House, Copenhagen. Danish political leaders and senior government officials, diplomats, mountaineers, Nepal-visitors, representatives from travel & tour organizations/agencies, photographers, media persons and other foreigners participated in the program.

Welcoming the participants in the programme, His Excellency Yuba Nath Lamsal, requested all participants to visit Nepal, experience the natural beauty, cultural diversity and many other adventurous aspects in Nepal. Elaborating Nepal as the combination of Nature, Culture and Adventure, His Excellency assured the participants that Nepal offers the visitors much more than what they pay. Stating that Nepal is the country of Mr. Everest, birthplace of Lord Buddha and progressive democracy, His Excellency inspired the foreigners to visit Nepal, feel heavenly pleasures and tell others as well to go to Nepal. His Excellency took this opportunity to state that Nepal is peaceful country with inclusive democracy that has adopted political and social systems akin to Nordic countries.

Lars Gundersen, a successful tourist entrepreneur gave exciting presentation on his tourism experiences in Nepal and encouraged the participants to visit Nepal. Soren Gudmann, first successful climber of Mt. Everest from Denmark and climber of seven highest peaks of the world, gave inspiring presentations on expeditions in the Himalayas and experiences of his great Everest ascent in 2005. Ole Ejnar Hansen, who has visited Nepal many times, displayed best adventures in Himalayas and some attractions of lifestyle of Himalayan region of Nepal. A short presentation on Nepal’s major touristic attractions was also made on behalf of the Embassy.

Various exhibitions were held in several booths with the themes; adventure and trekking, cultural heritages, relaxation, meditation and yoga. The exhibition booths were equipped with projectors, televisions, virtual reality (VR) stand, social media, brochures, postures, leaflets, banners etc. Moreover, some volunteers who are graduates in tourism were also assigned to each booth to give right information to the participants. The tourism materials were distributed to the participants as souvenirs. Last but not the least, Nepali delicious foods were served for tasting. The participants enjoyed the food taste of Nepal.
